The town of Pineville is located about 10 miles south of Uptown Charlotte. Pineville Area Real Estate - History
This area began as an American Indian trading route which later became Highway 21. The economy in the 1800s was based on agriculture, mainly cotton production. Pineville was the home town of president John Polk. Pineville is known as a place that is known to many but home to few due to it's positon near the border of South Carolina and zoning around it. The reason is that the city can't expand much beyond the current boundaries is in part, that much of the land surrounding the town is single use zoned for retail. This occurred after the construction of I-485.
