Welcome to Concord Real Estate and Homes.  If you are looking for more information on Concord Neighborhoods then you have found the right web site.  If you are looking for general information on what Charlotte has to offer please visit our main site on Charlotte Real Estate.

The city of Concord is located in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. Some people who work in Uptown Charlotte seek out Concord, since the two cities are so close to one another.  Although the business sector of Concord is nowhere near that of Charlotte's, there are many reasons to look into Concord.  In fact, in 2004, Concord won an All-America City Award and, two years later, Concord was ranked as one of the top cities to live and start a business. Today, the city continues to grow and develop into an ideal place to live in.

What Makes Concord Special?

Concord means “harmony.” When you visit Concord, the harmonious blend of the old and the new becomes evident as you explore the different structures in the city.  From buildings and homes constructed in the 1920s to modern structures, the rich heritage of the city truly makes it special.

One of the most attractive features of Concord, North Carolina is the city's proximity to the major city of Charlotte.  Concord is located approximately 20 miles northwest of Uptown Charlotte.  Four highways pass through or near Concord, including the I-85, the NC-49, and the Concord Highway.  These highways offer easy accessibility to the other areas around Concord.  Accessibility actually contributes to more convenient living conditions in the city and the rise of many business opportunities in the area.

Concord Real Estate and Homes - History

Much of the history of Concord has to do with its name. When Cabarrus County was first created in the latter 1700s, there were disputes over which city would be named the county seat.  There were two cities contending for the title of county seat at the time and neither of them were Concord.  In fact, Concord was created to bring “concord” to the dispute over which city would be the county seat. Instead of choosing between the two cities vying for the title, officials decided to establish the City of Concord as the county seat.  The City of Concord was officially founded in April of 1796 and it was incorporated approximately ten years later.

Throughout the years, Concord has developed into a city where singles, couples, and families can all find a great place to live in.  As a result of the continuous and gradual growth of Concord and its surrounding areas, there have been a lot of people moving to the city.  Since the year 2000 up to 2007, the population in Concord has grown by over 11% to nearly 65,000.  Concord is a popular choice for people moving into the area.
