Indian Trail was established on (as the name might indicate) an indian trail used for trading. This first white settlers did not arrive in Indian Trail until the mid 1700s and this area has grown steadily ever since. For a brief period during the 1800s Indian Trail was also known for gold mining. This passed and the community returned to their economic staple of agriculture and farming. Indian Trail was incorporated in 1907. Indian Trail values it's history and has a museum in town called the Corner Museum.
