McConnell is a traditionally designed neighborhood of homes located within walking distance of Downtown Davidson North Carolina. McConnell offers sidewalks and green space for a safe and inviting place to walk, bike and play. The land was donated to Davidson College by one of its former professors with the request that it be used for housing for the faculty and administration of the College, as well as the public. Houses were designed based on local architectural styles found in Davidson and include front porches and rear garages. A centrally located park is named in honor of Mr. McConnell, called McConnell Green.
Just outside of town, within a few miles of McConnell, you can find the Headquarters for Lowe's Home Improvement, and Lake Norman. The lake is home to all sorts of boating, fishing and other recreational activities. The commute to Uptown Charlotte is just a short 19 miles.
